In Search of the Blessing

“Everyone and everything I see will lean toward me to bless me.”
A Course in Miracles

I so love that quote from ACIM, because it reminds me that everyone in my life is there for a reason. The blessing part may not be obvious sometimes, but it is the truth.

If you were with me on Sunday, you remember my topic was “Thank You for My Friends.” The people in our lives bring us gifts, often that we judge as either wonderful (full of wonder) or wonder – ful (full of ‘I wonder how the heck this mess made it into my life?’).

Have you ever looked back at a situation that looked like a big, hurtful mess when you were in the middle of it, but found that it was actually a period of growth and expansion, and really had to happen so you could move to where you are now? I have.

That’s why we don’t judge by appearances. We recognize that Life is for us (and always blesses us), and allow our experiences to unfold, always looking for the gift. And when we are consciously aware of that, instead of waiting until everything is cleaned up, we can stay in “unconditional friendliness” and gratitude for everyone and everything, as we walk through it.

Then we can honestly say, “thank you for my friends…”

P. S. Be sure to join us this Sunday for our annual Thanksgiving potluck! See you at 10 a.m.
