Growing up, you might have gotten the message about the importance of responsibility and keeping busy. Remember the old expression about “idle hands being the devil’s playground”? Many of us took that belief and ran with it, to the point that even now we find it difficult to let go and relax.
Do we give ourselves the opportunity to be human beings, instead of “human doings”?
The last step in our prayer work is release, followed by “Amen” or “and so it is.” Do we really release it to Spirit? Or do we pick it back up and try to figure out all the ways whatever it is may or may not play out?
God will not fight us for it. Spirit will allow us to make ourselves crazy with thoughts on all the possible possibilities. But “we (really) can have peace instead of this.”
We can choose to allow the Universe to take care of it for us. No matter what it is–the sale of a property, the need for greater financial abundance, healing a physical challenge or relationship.
Someone said “before enlightenment, chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment, chop wood, carry water.” We are all chopping wood and carrying water. When we are in the midst of a challenge, it is imperative that we treat ourselves with love and compassion, without judging that we somehow shouldn’t be going through this.
Know that we are here to support you. You can always contact me, or one of our other ministers or practitioners, for assistance, no matter what the situation. Sometimes we just need someone to remind us that we truly never walk alone.
