As of today (Thursday, September 22, 2011), there are 100 days left in 2011.
There is nothing we have to do. There is nothing we need to do.
But if there is something (or a list of somethings) that you don’t want to carry with you into 2012, I invite, and even challenge, you to join me in doing what needs to be done.
We talked about this on Sunday. If you’ve been contemplating this, or even have started taking the steps to reach your goal, it is quite possible your ego is telling you all the reasons why this could never happen.
Heredity, not enough time, not enough energy, too big a task, etc.
Sometimes what we fail to remember is that we are not doing this alone. Whatever this is.
There is no place, and no situation, where Spirit is not. So we can ask for the strength and determination to organize that room. Or lose the weight. Or finish school. Or speak our truth. Or forgive and heal what needs to be forgiven and healed.
Remember a time in your life when you “just did it.” (Thank you, Nike.) You saw what needed to be done, hunkered down, drew on your internal strength, and did it. Included in that “internal strength” was the knowing, consciously or unconsciously, that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Christ being the Christ consciousness that we all have, just as Jesus did.)
You still have that internal Christ–nothing has changed.
What if you decided to commit and do what needs to be done? Not necessarily in one afternoon. But one hour a day. Don’t need to lose that 40 pounds today; but today we can be consciously aware of what we are eating, and make the right choices. Don’t need to organize the room today, but maybe spend one hour, then one hour tomorrow, etc. Remember you eat an elephant one bite at a time.
Imagine how powerful and power-filled you will feel when you have completed the project. At the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about.
